Lack of Motivation – What to Do?

Motivation is something that we often approach in the wrong way. We try try harder and harder to feel better, or to get excited about something, when forcing things only brings us down. The more effort we put into something, the more frustrating it can get. Motivation is a natural state of being that occurs when we are aligned with what we really want.

Motivation comes easily for a lot of individuals. For others, it is not as easy. They find it difficult feeling motivation about life because they lack of connection with the self and their true wants and desires.

Lack of motivation stems from a lot of things. We can feel in a slump about our careers, marriage, relationships, and personal attitude about ourselves. If it’s about work, if you aren’t passionate about your position, if you don’t like what you do, then have you considered quitting? Is the money worth it when your happiness and health are being negatively affected?

Enthusiasm is a major ingredient of motivation. Self-success is only possible when you can be true to yourself and your feelings. If you are faced with a situation that is draining you of your positive life energy and motivation, then ask yourself what you can do to change. Make a list of the pros and cons of staying vs. leaving. Ask friends to support you in finding a solution that will allow you to get your motivation back.

Other activities worth considering include doing little things for yourself like taking a walk or taking yourself out on a date. Giving yourself that well deserved break from thinking when things seem overwhelming.

One of the major blocks to self motivation are negative feelings, vibes and thoughts that make you doubt your own abilities and hold you back from achieving. Remember, there are plenty of ordinary things that you can do in order to regenerate that passion you once had. Sometimes all it requires is taking a short break.

Many forms of improving your life are available, but all of them begin with motivation. When you are able to stop exerting pressure on yourself, you will be able to find whatever it is that stokes the fire of your heart and brings light to your life.
