Dealing with Anger the Zen Way

Are you angry a lot? Do you have problems controlling your anger? Are you losing sleep over anger issues with one person in particular?
If you are, then it’s important admit that you have anger issues and to accept that you may need help.

Anger is a normal emotion and how you deal with anger is a result of anxiety and can affect your health. If left untreated, anger can control your life.

Knowing the effects you anger has on your body is one of the first steps in helping anger issues. Sometimes the anger is so great that it takes over your emotions and floods your body, causing you to believe you have lost power and control.

Anger impacts your adrenal glands and increases your blood pressure. You know what happens when your doctor tells you your blood pressure is to high. Even though you may explode from your anger, holding it inside is worse than letting it out. It needs to be released in a healthy way, so you can have a healthy lifestyle.

Working on anger issues is not easy. It takes patience and conviction. Remember that when you are angry you might think and say things you don’t really mean to those you love. Be careful of what you say and how you say it. Our loved ones are affected by how we feel, and how we communicate with them.

Below is a list of things you can do to help you with your anger issues:

* Walk away from the situation before you explode.
* Take a walk or go for a run. Exercise helps release endorphins to help you calm down.
* Write down your feelings on paper before you confront someone. Communication in the form of a letter is better than screaming at someone.
* Once you have calmed down, ask yourself where the anger is coming from, and who is it aimed at.
* Try zen meditation techniques.

Zen meditation is learned to calm not only your mind, but your body as well. Not only does meditation help check your temper, it helps control your physical temper and helps regulate your blood pressure. It can help you realize who the real you is and give you a felling of real power and control over your life.

Zen will make you feel relaxed and better able to deal with all the situations in your life. You may even want to work your anger out by planting a Zen garden. Working with your hands is another way of releasing stress and anger.

Using Zen meditation will help you not only to relax, but to get in touch with the feelings causing the anger.
